Tabcorp has a proud history of contributing to the community and we see our community investment as part of our wider corporate social responsibility commitment.
Our Commitment to the Community
Community Connections for better lives
Enriching our communities through voluntary support activities

Through our community investment activities, we aim to enhance our corporate reputation and increase our employee engagement within the community.

The focus of our community investment activities and programs is to connect people in need with organisations that can provide help and solutions for a better life.

Our community activities were developed in response to both the needs that exist in the communities where we work and the desire of our employees to make a difference through community contributions.

Our community commitment is underpinned by our organisation's key performance indicators (KPOs) of "being a great place to work" and to be "respected in the community".

At the heart of our community involvement is Tabcorp's continuing commitment to work with community organisations that will help bring people together in a way that delivers positive and lasting change for people in need - particularly among the most disadvantaged.

Our community investment activities cover three key areas:-

In the financial year ended 30 June 2009, the Tabcorp Group’s businesses, people and brands contributed approximately $3.5 million to communities.

State community benefit funds

In addition, during the year ended 30 June 2009 the Tabcorp Group contributed $92.8 million to community benefit funds in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This was up 4.3% on the previous year. These funds are used for many community facilities and services, such as road construction, hospital and health facilities and other community infrastructures.

London Benchmarking Group (LBG)

Tabcorp uses the London Benchmarking Group (LBG) framework and methodology to help measure the voluntary community contributions made across all brands and businesses. LBG is used by many leading Australian organisations to systematically measure, benchmark and in some cases report on their voluntary contributions to the community. Tabcorp has been using LBG since 2007, and in 2009 determined that the Tabcorp Group contributed approximately $3.5 million of voluntary contributions to the communities in which it operates, in the form of in-kind giving, use of hotel and casino facilities, food and beverages, and employee time.
