From the Hart: the Lott gives back
11 June 2019
More than $6 million was raised for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation at Channel Nine’s Gold Telethon, proudly presented by the Lott.
The Lott has a long and proud history of supporting the New South Wales community by helping deliver key health and social infrastructure projects.
Head of PR for Lotteries and Keno, Matt Hart, said it was important for the Lott to support not only winning players, but also winning communities.
“We want players to know that even if they don’t win the lottery, they are helping to benefit the broader community,” he said.
In addition to being the broadcast partner for the seven-hour televised program, Matt was also at the event taking donations from callers.
“It was funny seeing all the celebrities in pyjamas and Ugg boots, but the highlight for me was seeing The Wiggles having a jam session backstage – definitely unexpected!” he said.
The money raised from Telethon will be used to fund life-saving medical research and provide an incredible array of patient and family support programs.
