How the Lott is giving back
10 June 2020
A few short weeks after they donated $1 million towards the research and development of a COVID-19 vaccine, Tabcorp’s lottery business the Lott, is giving back again.
This time, through Golden Casket, they’ve contributed $500,000 of unclaimed prizemoney to the Mater Foundation to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on unborn babies.
The Queensland-first trial will assess the impacts of COVID-19 on expectant parents and their unborn babies and is being carried out at Mater Mothers’ Hospitals.
The Lott Sponsorship and Community Manager Hans de Koning said the team was proud to support the important work being carried out by the Foundation.
“We are proud to continue our commitment to the Mater Foundation,” he said.
“This year was our 29th year supporting the Mater Foundation totaling $14.5 million given to research initiatives run by the Mater Hospital.”
The Lott was also a presenting partner at Channel Nine’s Gold Telethon this week.
The telethon, which raised a total of $1,644,889 was held in support of the life-saving medical research carried out by the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation and will provide an incredible array of patient and family support programs.
“Every child deserves the best medical care, whenever they may need it, which is why the Lott was proud to once again serve as the official broadcast partner for the 2020 Channel Nine Gold Telethon,” Hans said.
“The Lott, through NSW Lotteries, has a long, proud history of supporting the New South Wales community by helping the delivery of key health and social infrastructure projects.”
