Tabcorp’s goal is to be the best place to work and to provide our employees with a rewarding and safe working environment.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive culture that reflects a diverse workplace, where team members openly share their unique perspectives, challenge the status quo and contribute their experience to achieve the best possible business outcome. The main areas of focus for Tabcorp in the workplace are inclusion and diversity, culture, employee engagement, learning and development, recognition, and health, safety and wellbeing.
Diversity and Gender Equality
Since establishing a Diversity Council in 2012, Tabcorp has introduced a number of initiatives, including 18 weeks’ paid parental leave for primary carers and market-leading paid secondary carer’s leave of six weeks; a Women’s Mentoring Program, which more than 150 women have participated in; flexi leave day entitlements; and a commitment to increasing the representation of women in our senior leadership group.
Tabcorp celebrates International Women's Day
On 8 March 2019, Sky Racing backed its female on-air talent with more than a dozen female presenters taking over Sky Racing 1, Sky Racing 2, and Thoroughbred Central as part of International Women's Day.
In addition, we also launched two major initiatives; our new Inclusion and Diversity strategy and extensions to our Domestic and Family Violence Support policy.
Tabcorp is committed to celebrating the diverse group of people who make up our organisation. In March 2019, teams around our organisation celebrated Harmony Day by sharing food from their cultural background and wearing a splash of orange.
Employer of Choice for Gender Equality
In February 2019, Tabcorp received the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation by the Federal Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). This was the fourth consecutive year that Tabcorp was awarded this citation, and was particularly significant as it was based for the first time on the combined Tabcorp and Tatts business.
Gender diversity targets
At the start of FY19, Tabcorp introduced new gender diversity targets which apply to its Board of Directors and senior leadership positions. At 30 June 2018, two of Tabcorp’s eight Non Executive Directors were female (25%) and Tabcorp had 36% of females in senior leadership positions.
Inclusion and Diversity Policy
Tabcorp refreshed its Inclusion and Diversity Policy in August 2018. The policy articulates our commitment to creating a culture of inclusion, where our team members collaborate, everyone is treated with respect, and where everyone experiences a genuine sense of belonging. This policy is available from the Corporate Governance section of this website.
Women’s Mentoring Program
In February 2018, 29 women from varied backgrounds within the racing industry took part in the Women’s Mentoring Program. This was the sixth time that Tabcorp has run the program, and in recognising a broader commitment to engaging, growing and retaining women throughout the racing industry, Tabcorp was delighted to partner with Racing Victoria to offer the expanded program.
We are committed to operating ethically and with integrity.
