Tabcorp rides with Payne and Griffiths
Tabcorp is delighted to be a major partner in the up-coming movie about Michelle Payne’s historic Melbourne Cup win, Ride Like A Girl alongside the Victorian Government and Racing Victoria.
Tabcorp CEO David Attenborough recently joined Michelle, her brother and Prince of Penzance’s strapper Stevie Payne, Hollywood star and director of the film Rachel Griffiths, Racing Victoria CEO Giles Thompson and Victorian Government Ministers in the regional Victorian city of Ballarat to announce Tabcorp’s investment.
Michelle made history in 2015 when she was the first female jockey to win a Melbourne Cup. The movie is set to be released in 2019 and much of it will be shot in regional Victoria where Michelle grew up. A scene will even be shot in the local Ballarat TAB agency.
David said Tabcorp is delighted to be a major supporter of the film as a long-standing partner of the Victorian racing industry.
“The TAB helps connect millions of Australians to racing and many have a great story to tell about backing Michelle Payne and Prince of Penzance in the 2015 Melbourne Cup,” David said.
“Michelle’s story also closely aligns with our commitment to promoting gender diversity and supporting women in racing and business.”
