Sky Racing Presents the Inaugural Riding for the Disabled Australia fundraising week

Sky Racing is proud to introduce a brand-new partnership with Riding for the Disabled Australia (RDA), where the broadcaster will match community donations up to $100,000 over the next week.

The campaign will run from Saturday July 27th, to Saturday, August 3rd and Sky Racing will be driving this home across all broadcast channels, as well as a cash donation matching the dollars put in by the community.

RDA Australia is a voluntary, nonprofit organisation which provides opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy safe, healthy, therapeutic, horse-related activities in Australia.

Donations will help RDA to deliver programs safely and effectively to around 2200 people each year. Donations will help RDA to continue to develop and evolve their program delivery practices, invest in RDA volunteer training systems and grow program reach across Australia. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Adam Brownlee, General Manager Sky Racing & International Media said: “Sky Racing are very proud to work with Riding for the Disabled Australia on this innovative fundraising campaign.

“We are backing this campaign and supporting the cause not just with a cash donation, but with the breadth of Sky Racing channels distribution. We are beamed into 68 countries internationally, as well as 50,000 screens across 4000 venues domestically, and of course into homes via Foxtel.

“I can’t wait to see the impact this donation drive will have on the thousands of people that RDA support each year.”

Riding for the Disabled Australia (RDA) is proud to be partnering with SKY Racing in 2024, strengthening its association and commemorating RDA’s 60th year in Australia.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of RDA, and the national organisation wouldn’t be possible without the 3,850 volunteers aged between 12 and 80 years, across 72 locations, working tirelessly around the country. In terms of impact, RDA’s volunteers contribute more than 350,000 volunteer hours each year at a combined value of $16.7 million.

RDA CEO, Justin Dent expressed his gratitude for the volunteers and support from SKY Racing, commenting “This year’s fundraising campaign with SKY Racing will be vitally important to help us continue to develop and enhance resources and systems that keep our volunteers trained, equipped and safe,” he said.

“Our volunteers deliver more than 50,000 riding lessons every year, that’s 50,000 opportunities for people with disability to grow, develop and engage in their communities, and with the support of SKY Racing we can continue to deliver that crucial training across Australia, impacting grass roots programs in all parts of the country” Justin said.
